What can we say about tonight, we hit the road again and visited The Swan in Southampton for our first ever visit there at the city's best music pub and it didn't disappoint. A large crowd that lapped up what we feel was our finest ever performance in a night that had everything including a cameo appearance on stage by a birthday boy in the audience who joined us on stage for a improvised rendition of 'Time of Your Life'.
If that wasn't enough our first live performance of Anarchy in the UK was met with one of the biggest roars of appreciation at the end we've ever heard. Capped all off by a big mosh at the end with people dancing to both our own tunes at the end and to Chelsea Dagger! We can't wait to go back in September!

First off an apology that the website hasn't been updated for a short while, although the last few months have seen us finish of the year with a double gig around our home town of Bognor and another visit to Gosport to top off a memorable year for the band. Without doubt, '09 has been the most eventful year of Aceville so far gigging all over the county - we've played some truly fantastic venues and in front of some awesome crowds and we've also learnt a fair few things too and matured further together as musicians and as friends.
We'd all like to take the time to wish everyone connected to the band who've either supported us, shown up to gigs, cheered, or simply just stumbled in on one of our gigs a very merry Christmas and a prosperous 2010 as well as extend our gratitude to anyone who has helped us make this year so good for us - you know who you are. However, the best is still yet to come in the shape of more gigs and we will be returning to the studio to record a new 4 track demo of original tunes!
See you all in the new year!

Unfortunately, our gig planned for The Wheelwrights at Havant has now been cancelled as the landlords have vacated the premises and all acts previously booked up have been cancelled by the temporary owners. We are hoping to be able to reschedule another gig here as soon as the new owners take over the venue.

Statement
by Matt regarding The Sussex Arms - 22nd May
This evening we were scheduled to
play this pub in East Grinstead. After a drive of just over an hour from our
home town we were very upset and disappointed to be told that they didn't want
us to play after all after wasting our time setting up and set checking. We were
informed they were 'having problems with the council' and were refusing to pay
us any compensation for our wasted time and journey made. This is despite us
being booked two months in advance, and having received no prior warning that
the pub was in this situation.
As you can understand, we were quite upset and angry over the way the band was
treated as no one enjoys being messed around and the landlords bullying
techniques were unacceptable so its understandable I will stand up for what I strongly believe is right for this band and
I make no apology for my show of discontent at the pubs contempt
towards us.
Finally, I would like to thank my band mates for their full backing and support
for what turned out to be a completely disappointing evening for us and for
anyone else who were looking forward to seeing us live.

Happy new year people. Firstly, a warm welcome to the brand spanking new Aceville website. The launch of the website this month coincides with a few other new things for us.
The band are pleased to announce the addition of new member Jamie McGrory as rhythm guitarist. Jamie has been playing guitar for the past 5 years and been with a couple of other groups when he was invited to jam with us recently. He will be a great addition to help make Aceville sound even better and commented on how he loved the vibe he got playing with us and that he was 'chuffed to be part of the band and was looking forward to helping us move forward musically'. Jamie will be playing his first gig with us at The Chichester on 20th Feb 2009.
